Ezekiel Elliott Re-Signs with Dallas Cowboys
Contract Details
The Dallas Cowboys and star running back Ezekiel Elliott have agreed to terms on a new contract, NFL Network reported Monday. The deal is reportedly worth $10 million annually and includes a $6 million signing bonus.
Elliott's Role with Cowboys
Past Performance
Elliott has been a workhorse for the Cowboys since being drafted fourth overall in 2016. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons, including a career-high 1,631 yards in 2018. He has also scored 49 touchdowns during that span.
Future Outlook
The Cowboys will likely ease Elliott's workload in the future as he approaches his 30th birthday. However, he is still expected to be a key part of their offense, especially in short-yardage situations and the red zone.
Elliott's Stats with Patriots
Elliott spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots after being traded by the Cowboys. He finished with 642 rushing yards and three touchdowns on a career-low 3.5 yards per carry.
